Amit Shah, Dharmendra Pradhan Closely Monitor Parliament Security as NEET Protest Intensifies During Monsoon Session

As the Monsoon Session of Parliament commenced on Monday, the Centre closely monitored the evolving security situation around Parliament amid large-scale protests over the alleged NEET examination irregularities. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan remained in constant coordination as demonstrators gathered near the high-security zone demanding action on examination-related issues.
According to sources, the two senior ministers have been continuously reviewing both the law-and-order situation and the government's response strategy as protesters attempted to move towards Parliament under the "Chalo Sansad" campaign.
The protests, led by student groups and the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), have brought the alleged NEET paper leak controversy back into sharp political focus on the opening day of the Monsoon Session. Thousands of protesters assembled in central Delhi, prompting authorities to deploy heavy security around Parliament and other sensitive locations.
The Education Ministry has emerged as the focal point of the controversy since the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the NEET examination, functions under its administrative control. Protesters have been demanding greater accountability over alleged examination irregularities, comprehensive reforms to the examination system and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Security agencies have maintained heightened vigilance across the national capital, with multiple layers of police deployment, barricades and movement restrictions in place to prevent demonstrators from entering the Parliament complex.
The developments come as the government prepares to navigate an Opposition offensive in Parliament over the NEET controversy and other issues expected to dominate the Monsoon Session. With protests continuing outside Parliament and political pressure mounting inside both Houses, the administration remains focused on maintaining security while monitoring the situation closely.
