Andhra Pradesh refuses to defend trans rights law changes in Supreme Court

Andhra Pradesh has declined to defend changes made to the transgender rights law before the Supreme Court, stating it had no role in enacting the Act and has not taken any action discriminatory towards transgender persons.

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand has submitted that the law is beneficial. The matter is being heard by the apex court, where petitioners have challenged certain amendments to the law on trans rights.
