iPhone Duo's Design Raises Accessibility Concerns for Left-Handed Users

Apple launched its first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, on September 9, 2026, priced at $1,999. The device features a dual-screen foldable design marking a major shift in Apple's smartphone architecture. However, left-handed users have raised concerns about the device's usability since its announcement.
Critics point out that key controls favour right-handed operation. The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the power button on the right edge, while the dedicated camera button is also positioned on the right side. Left-handed users argue these placements make everyday operations less comfortable, particularly when adjusting grip while opening, closing and interacting with the foldable display.
Some users have voiced concerns on social media about the device's ergonomics for left-hand operation, questioning whether Apple optimised the design primarily for right-handed users.
