Apple Set To Launch Siri AI Smart Home Hub With Screen Next Month

Apple is preparing to launch a personal AI hub with an integrated screen as soon as next month, according to analyst Mark Gurman. The device, codenamed J490 internally, is designed as a home hub rather than a mobile device, unifying smart-home controls, video calling, intercom features and media playback through a Siri AI-driven interface.
The hardware features a roughly square display available in stand-mounted or wall-mounted versions, with an interface blending elements of iOS, tvOS and watchOS. A key feature includes facial recognition via the front camera to identify users and display personalised content such as apps, notes, calendar entries and media.
Apple is reportedly planning a launch event in October, following its recent releases of new iPhones, Apple Watches and AirPods 5. The smart home hub is already undergoing broad testing among Apple employees' homes ahead of its public reveal.
