Four European nations back India's bid for permanent UN Security Council seat

Four Central European nations—Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Czechia, collectively known as the Visegrad Group (V4)—have backed India's bid for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council. The support came during the first ministerial-level meeting between India and the V4 bloc held during the UN General Assembly high-level week.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar described the inaugural V4+India meeting as a "historic occasion." Discussions covered political, economic, defence, technology, space, connectivity and people-to-people ties between India and the four nations.
