Sooryavanshi and Bishnoi collide during catch attempt in IND vs PAK Asian Games final

India faced a tense moment during the men's cricket gold medal match against Pakistan at the 2026 Asian Games when fielders Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ravi Bishnoi collided while attempting a catch. The incident occurred in the ninth over of Pakistan's innings as Abhishek Sharma bowled to Hasan Nawaz.
Nawaz mistimed his shot, sending the ball high into the air. Sooryavanshi, positioned at long-off, sprinted towards the ball while Bishnoi charged in from long-on. The two made contact mid-attempt, causing the ball to slip from Sooryavanshi's hands. Nawaz survived the chance and collected two runs from the delivery.
Both fielders escaped without serious injury and were able to continue playing. The missed opportunity proved costly for India, but the primary concern was the safety of both players.
