Assam Cultivators' Body Accuses Government of Seizing Grazing Land for Corporate Gain

A cultivators' organisation has accused the Assam government of attempting to take over grazing land that has been traditionally used by riverine communities, alleging the move is driven by corporate interests.
The organisation contends that the state is displacing pastoral communities from lands they have long depended upon for their livelihoods. The allegation raises concerns about the prioritisation of commercial development over the rights and interests of local farming and herding communities.
