Andhra Pradesh SIT Deploys Forensic Teams to Probe Assamese Student's Death Near Railway Tracks

An Andhra Pradesh Police Special Investigation Team, along with forensic experts, dog squads and drone teams, is investigating the death of Himashri Boro, a 20-year-old Assamese student and dancer whose body was discovered near railway tracks in Srikakulam district. The body was found on October 7 near Penubarthi village, on the right side of the tracks between Vizianagaram and Srikakulam Road.
Boro, a BBA student from Guwahati, had arrived in Visakhapatnam on August 16 as part of a 10-member dance group performing at various venues. The group earned approximately Rs 2,000 per person daily. While five members of the group had returned to Assam, Boro remained with the others.
According to her family, Boro attempted to return to Assam on October 6 but missed her scheduled train, the Silchar Express. She stayed at the railway station and boarded the late-running Vivek Express, which was scheduled to depart at 11:50 pm. The Superintendent of Police and the investigation team visited the scene and conducted detailed inquiries, with forensic teams, clues specialists and drone operators examining the area along the railway tracks.
