RBI directs state-level banking committees to track SC beneficiary data in key job and entrepreneurship schemes

State-Level Bankers' Committees (SLBCs) and Union Territory-Level Bankers' Committees (UTLBCs) have been directed to collect and report data on scheduled caste beneficiary participation in major government schemes focused on job creation and entrepreneurship. The directive aims to monitor financial inclusion and targeted support reaching vulnerable sections of society through priority sector lending and related government initiatives.
According to RBI guidelines, SLBCs are primarily tasked with addressing "policy and strategic issues relating to the flow of priority sector credit and overall financial inclusion in the state". The new reporting requirement extends this mandate to track implementation effectiveness of schemes targeting socially disadvantaged groups.
The move reflects efforts to ensure government employment and entrepreneurship programmes are reaching their intended beneficiaries and to identify gaps in access to financial services and opportunities for scheduled caste communities across states and union territories.
