Bengal to sign agreement with Centre for Purulia airport under UDAN scheme

West Bengal Chief Minister announced that the state government will sign an agreement with the Centre on September 28 to establish an airport in Purulia district. The project will be developed under the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, the Centre's flagship programme aimed at connecting underserved regions across the country.
The UDAN initiative focuses on strengthening last-mile air connectivity and enhancing aviation infrastructure in areas with limited air transport access. The Purulia airport is expected to improve regional connectivity and boost economic development in the district.
