BJP, Congress Condemn Punjab CM Mann After Akal Takht Declaration

The Akal Takht has declared Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann 'anti-Guru' and asked the Sikh community to distance themselves from him. The declaration followed a forensic examination of a viral video purportedly showing Mann under the influence of alcohol while sprinkling droplets on photographs of Guru Sahibs. According to Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, two laboratories concluded the video was neither fake nor AI-generated.

The BJP slammed Mann, with national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala calling the situation "shameful" and stating that reverence towards Guru Sahibs is "non-negotiable." Congress MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring also called for Mann's immediate resignation, asserting that the CM has lost his moral authority following the Akal Takht's declaration.
