BJP surges ahead in Bengal bypolls as Congress contests counting process

The Bharatiya Janata Party has taken substantial leads in two key bypolls in West Bengal—Nandigram and Rejinagar—during vote counting, signalling significant gains in the state for the national party.
The Congress party has raised concerns about the counting process, alleging irregularities. Congress representatives claimed procedural violations and demanded a review of the tallying methodology being followed at the counting centres.
The Nandigram and Rejinagar bypolls are closely watched contests that reflect the political landscape in West Bengal ahead of broader electoral cycles. Both seats have seen intense campaigning from multiple parties vying for influence in the state.
