BJP MLA alleges massive corruption in Karnataka construction workers' health scheme

A BJP MLA has alleged large-scale corruption in Karnataka's health check-up scheme for construction workers. Araga Jnanendra claimed the Karnataka Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board reported expenditure of ₹799 crore on preventive health check-ups for over 27.13 lakh workers, but had conducted hardly any actual camps.
The MLA has demanded a CBI investigation into the alleged misappropriation of funds. The allegations suggest a significant gap between claimed spending and actual implementation of the health initiative.
