BJP MP Saumitra Khan Claims ‘50 TMC MLAs, 20 MPs Ready to Switch’, Sparks Massive Political Row In West Bengal

Massive political tension is brewing in West Bengal after BJP MP Saumitra Khan claimed that a large number of Trinamool Congress leaders are in touch with the BJP and could defect if given approval by the party leadership.
According to Khan, nearly 50 MLAs and around 20 MPs from the All India Trinamool Congress are reportedly unhappy with the internal functioning of the party and are considering switching sides. He further suggested that such a move, if facilitated by the BJP central leadership, could significantly weaken the ruling party in West Bengal.
Khan also made sharp remarks targeting senior TMC leadership, alleging internal dissatisfaction and asserting that several leaders are already in contact with opposition channels. His comments have intensified the ongoing political sparring between the two parties.
Reacting strongly, TMC MP Sougata Roy dismissed the claims, calling them baseless and politically motivated. He said there is no possibility of such large-scale defections and accused the BJP of spreading misinformation to create confusion within the party ranks.
