BJP Says It Will Contest All 117 Punjab Assembly Seats Solo in 2027 Elections

The Bharatiya Janata Party announced on Monday that it will contest all 117 Assembly seats in Punjab's 2027 state elections independently. BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santosh made the statement during the party's first zonal meeting in Patiala.

The declaration comes amid ongoing speculation about a potential alliance between the BJP and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). Santosh's remarks during his two-day organisational visit to Punjab signal the party's confidence in its preparedness to fight the elections solo.
