BMC headquarters canteen to display food ingredients after FDA closure

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's headquarters canteen, which was closed by the Food and Drug Administration in July on orders from FDA Commissioner Mundhe, is set to reopen with new transparency requirements.
The canteen will now be required to display detailed information about ingredients used in all food items served to staff. This measure aims to ensure food safety and allow consumers to make informed choices about what they eat.
The closure had raised concerns about food safety standards at the civic body's main office. The reopening with enhanced transparency protocols represents an effort to restore public confidence and meet regulatory standards set by the FDA.
