BMC Orders Probe After Livestock Found at Govandi School

Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Education Committee ordered a probe after co-opted member Nikhil Vyas raised concerns about livestock allegedly being kept on the premises of Sanjay Nagar BMC School in Govandi's M East Ward.
Vyas claimed goats had been tied in the school ground for several days, creating a nuisance and disturbing the school environment. He demanded investigation into whether local pressure groups and school staff were colluding to permit the illegal activity.
Multiple committee members, including corporator Swapna Mhatre and Susham Samant, demanded strict action against defaulting officials. The Education Committee Chairperson directed authorities to submit a comprehensive investigation report. A civic official stated that an FIR may be filed against the offender if warranted.
