Bombay HC tells OCI cricketers to become Indian citizens to play for India

The Bombay High Court has heard petitions filed by 12 Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cricketers challenging the Board of Control for Cricket in India's requirement that players hold Indian passports to compete in domestic tournaments.
The petitioners have contested the BCCI's policy, which effectively bars OCI cardholders from participating in India's domestic cricket competitions. The court's implicit position, as reflected in proceedings, suggests that OCI status alone may not be sufficient for playing in Indian domestic cricket.
The matter has been scheduled for further hearing on November 25. The case will determine whether the BCCI's citizenship requirement stands or if OCI cricketers can be granted eligibility for domestic tournaments.
