BRICS endorses two-state solution, independent Palestine at summit in India

At the BRICS summit hosted by India, member nations unanimously adopted the New Delhi Declaration, reaffirming support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian dispute. The declaration emphasizes that a just and lasting resolution can only be achieved through peaceful means, respecting Palestinians' legitimate rights including self-determination and the right of return.
BRICS called for greater institutional support for Palestine from international organizations and stressed Israel's responsibilities under international law. The declaration demands establishment of a sovereign, independent Palestinian state within 1967 internationally recognized borders, encompassing Gaza and the West Bank with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The grouping reiterated support for Palestine's full membership in the United Nations and opposed any forced displacement of Palestinians from occupied territories or changes to Gaza's geography or demographic structure.
