Cabinet approves new authority to coordinate roads, rail, ports and aviation

India's Cabinet has approved the creation of the Integrated Transport and Logistics Authority (ITLA) to enhance coordination across transport sectors. The new body will oversee projects exceeding Rs 500 crore spanning roads, rail, ports and aviation.
ITLA will work to improve coordination among transport ministries and ensure better multi-modal integration. It will develop a comprehensive National Transport Master Plan with a ten-year horizon and establish a unified transport data repository to support project assessment and planning.
