Cabinet approves Integrated Transport Logistics Authority for unified planning

The Union Cabinet has approved the establishment of an Integrated Transport Logistics Authority (ITLA) to coordinate planning across multiple transport modes.
The ITLA will prepare transport master plans covering a 10-year period and beyond, while also appraising infrastructure projects valued at ₹500 crore or higher. The authority aims to consolidate data and align strategy across roads, railways, ports and aviation sectors.
The move seeks to create a unified framework for transport infrastructure development and reduce coordination gaps between different transport agencies.
