Government to engage third-party auditor for highways and expressways inspection
The government is planning to engage a third-party auditor to conduct quality inspections of national highways (NHs) and expressways. This move comes as deficiencies in highway projects have increasingly drawn public criticism in recent years.
Engineers India Limited (EIL) had previously performed similar third-party quality audits during construction of the Golden Quadrilateral, India's first major highway development initiative launched under Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
