Calcutta High Court rules custodial interrogation of Abhishek Banerjee unnecessary in post-May 4 cases

The Calcutta High Court ruled that custodial interrogation of Abhishek Banerjee is not required in cases registered against him after May 4. During proceedings, the court inquired whether any FIR had been filed against the Trinamool Congress leader before that date.
Additional Solicitor General S.V. Raju confirmed to the court that no cases were lodged against Banerjee prior to May 4. Based on this confirmation, the court determined that custodial interrogation in the subsequent cases was unnecessary.
