Central power body officer arrested for amassing assets 15 times known income

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an officer from a central power sector body on charges of acquiring assets worth approximately 15 times his known income, according to agency sources.
The arrest follows investigations into the official's financial records, which revealed substantial accumulation of property and other assets that could not be accounted for by his declared salary and legitimate income sources.
This case is part of CBI's ongoing efforts to probe corruption among senior officials in key government institutions overseeing critical infrastructure sectors.
