Centre denies blocking IDSFFK films, says 32 are under review

The Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry has clarified that no film was denied screening permission at the 18th International Documentary Film Festival Kerala (IDSFFK). The statement came after Congress MP Shashi Tharoor raised concerns about the reported rejection of 31 films, calling it an "assault on freedom of expression." Tharoor urged Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to intervene in the matter.
The ministry stated that 32 films are currently under review for the festival. The clarification seeks to address allegations of censorship at the festival, which has been a platform for documentary screenings.
