Centre cuts customs duty on edible oils to lower cooking costs
The Centre has reduced customs duty on edible oils to ease cooking expenses for consumers. Duty on crude soybean and palm oils has been cut from 10% to 5%, while refined varieties now attract 27.5% duty, down from 32.5%.
The move aims to reduce retail prices and provide relief to households amid inflationary pressures on food items.
