Centre notifies 375 new works under Viksit Bharat Guarantee scheme, expands scope by 41%

The Centre has notified 375 new permissible works under the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (VB-G RAM). The expanded categories include water security, core rural infrastructure, livelihood-related infrastructure, and disaster preparedness measures.

The revised framework emphasises livelihood infrastructure, with 128 works focusing on water security. The scheme is designed to replace MGNREGA with a guaranteed wage employment model for rural households each year, expanding the scope of eligible work by 41 per cent.
