Centre raises rabi MSPs for 2027-28 to support oilseeds, wheat price up ₹25

The Centre announced an increase in minimum support prices (MSPs) for rabi crops in the 2027-28 season, with a focus on boosting oilseeds production. Safflower received the highest absolute hike of ₹675 per quintal, raising its MSP to ₹7,215, representing a 10.3% increase. Rapeseed and mustard prices were also raised, along with wheat, which saw a ₹25 price increase.
The move aims to encourage farmers to increase cultivation of oilseeds amid domestic demand and to support agricultural income in the new season.
