Centre dispatches onions to West Bengal ahead of Dussehra to ease prices

The Centre is sending onions from its buffer stock to West Bengal to help manage prices ahead of the Dussehra festival. The Kanda Express, a dedicated train carrying onions from the Public Storage Facility (PSF), is scheduled to arrive in Kolkata on September 24, according to the department.

The move aims to increase onion availability in the state and moderate retail prices during the festive season, when demand typically surges.
