Tata Sons Chairman's Family Business Link With TVS Motor Draws Governance Questions

Family members of Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran have business associations with TVS Motor, according to reports, amid an ongoing leadership dispute at the Tata group. Lalitha Chandrasekaran and her son Pranav are directors of Hanno One Warehousing Pvt Ltd, incorporated in March 2025. Three months later, TVS Motor leased 17 acres of farmland in Tamil Nadu's Krishnagiri district to the company for warehouse development, with HDFC Bank offering a Rs 60 crore construction loan.
Tata Sons said the incorporation was disclosed to relevant companies in April 2025 and that TVS Motor operates independently with no business dealings with Tata group companies. The company contended that a transaction between TVS Motor and an entity managed by Chandrasekaran's son did not require disclosure to Tata Sons. The issue has gained attention as TVS chairman-emeritus Venu Srinivasan has supported Chandrasekaran's continuation as chairman during the ongoing leadership dispute.
