Prominent citizens oppose AIMPLB's Shariat campaign

A group of prominent citizens has come out against a campaign by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) related to Shariat law. The opposition reflects broader civil society concerns about the nature and scope of the campaign.
The AIMPLB, a quasi-judicial body representing Muslim personal law interests, has faced pushback from various quarters over its advocacy positions. Citizens raising objections have cited concerns about the implications of the campaign on secular governance and social cohesion.
