Delhi Metro closes 11 stations as Jantar Mantar protest over voter deletion row intensifies

Delhi Metro temporarily closed 11 stations in central Delhi on Wednesday following an intensifying protest at Jantar Mantar. Demonstrators are demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, citing concerns over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and alleged mass deletion of voters.
The closure of multiple stations was implemented as a precautionary measure to manage crowd movement and maintain law and order in the area surrounding the protest venue. CJP leader Abhijeet Dipke issued a call to action, stating that if the Chief Election Commissioner's resignation does not materialize, youth from across the country will be mobilized to march to Delhi.
Dipke's appeal underscores the growing momentum behind the protest movement, signaling potential for larger demonstrations if the protesters' demands are not addressed.
