Union Coal Minister Kishan Reddy seeks probe into 1,600 crore coal stock scam at SCCL

A political controversy has erupted in Telangana over allegations of coal stock misappropriation at Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). Union Coal Minister and BJP MP from Secunderabad Kishan Reddy has written to Chief Minister Ravi Reddy demanding an urgent probe into the matter.
In his June 10 letter, Reddy expressed serious concern about approximately 40 lakh tonnes of coal worth 1,600 crore reportedly going missing from SCCL stocks. He stated that the allegations, if true, would severely impact the company's financial health and future, and called for immediate investigation to identify irregularities.
SCCL operates under a joint partnership between the Telangana government and the Centre with a 51:49 equity ratio. Reddy emphasized that a swift inquiry is necessary to uncover any wrongdoing in the company.
