‘Cold-Blooded Murderer’: Kejriwal Targets Trump Over Indian Sailors’ Deaths, Questions Modi’s Silence

A sharp political confrontation erupted on Monday after Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal launched a fierce attack on US President Donald Trump over the deaths of three Indian sailors in a military strike near the Gulf of Oman, while also questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s response to the tragedy.
Kejriwal accused Trump of being directly responsible for the deaths of Indian nationals and demanded accountability for the incident. In a strongly worded statement, he described the US President as a “cold-blooded murderer” and said those responsible for the loss of Indian lives must be held answerable.
The AAP chief argued that the deaths of Indian citizens in an overseas military operation warranted a far stronger response from New Delhi. He alleged that the Centre had failed to take a sufficiently firm stand despite the loss of Indian lives and called for stronger protection of Indian nationals working in conflict-hit regions.
Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kejriwal claimed the government had not adequately defended India’s interests following the deaths of the sailors. He questioned the Centre’s approach and said the country deserved leadership that would respond decisively whenever Indian citizens were harmed abroad.
The controversy stems from a US military strike on the tanker MT Settebello near the Gulf of Oman. The vessel, carrying Indian crew members, came under attack during heightened tensions linked to enforcement measures against Iranian oil shipments. Three Indian sailors were killed in the incident, triggering concern over the safety of Indian seafarers operating in volatile maritime zones.
The tragedy has since become a major political issue, with opposition leaders demanding greater accountability and a stronger diplomatic response. The government has already raised concerns with the United States over the deaths and is engaged in efforts related to the affected crew members and their families.
