Congress event in Indore criticized for misogynistic remarks during Rahul Gandhi's address

Congress Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi faced backlash after a stand-up comedy performance at a 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' event in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on September 19 drew criticism for misogynistic and derogatory remarks. Comedian Pulkit Mani's act included mockery of Prime Minister Modi and an elderly woman, with Gandhi visibly cheerful throughout the performance.
Videos from the event went viral on social media, attracting widespread criticism. The comedian mimicked PM Modi's gestures and speech patterns and brought an elderly woman into the act, which critics described as crossing the line of decency. This marks another instance of similar controversies at Congress events, according to observers who cited another incident during the Rachnatmak Congress National Convention in New Delhi on August 13.
