Congress accuses Election Commission of blocking Gen-Z voters through new registration rules

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has escalated the party's criticism of the Election Commission, accusing it of deliberately making voter registration difficult for Gen-Z voters through new requirements introduced in Form 6. Ramesh claimed the EC's actions have created barriers that prevent young voters from participating in the electoral process.
The Congress leader further alleged that the Election Commission has been forced to order special voter registration camps in response to the widespread registration issues created by the new requirements. This panic response, according to Ramesh, demonstrates the unintended consequences of the EC's new registration procedures.
The allegation represents part of Congress's broader ongoing criticism of the Election Commission's electoral procedures and policies. The party contends that the registration requirement changes have disproportionately affected younger voters seeking to exercise their voting rights.
