Delhi Police Allegedly Detain Ex-Serviceman After Mistaking Him For CJP Protester

A former Army serviceman has alleged that Delhi Police detained him after mistaking him for a protester during the Cockroach Janta Party's planned demonstration at Jantar Mantar against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The man claimed he was detained around 5 am despite having come to Delhi for his nephew's medical treatment at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, where the patient was admitted with kidney problems.
In a video circulating on social media, the ex-serviceman stated he had served in the forces for nearly 30 years and was unfamiliar with Delhi. He alleged that police wrongly identified him as a Gen Z protester and also took away his mobile phone. He said he had been traveling around Delhi for two days attending to his nephew's hospital care when police picked him up.
Meanwhile, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka were reportedly detained by Delhi Police at Indira Gandhi International Airport. The CJP condemned the detentions as authoritarian and alleged they violated the leaders' freedom of movement, demanding their immediate release.
