No meaningful stakeholder consultation in JPC on FCRA Bill: Venugopal

Congress leader K.C. Venugopal has alleged that the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) examining the Foreign Contribution Regulation Amendment (FCRA) Bill has not conducted meaningful stakeholder consultation.
Venugopal's remarks point to concerns over the parliamentary review process for the controversial bill, which regulates foreign funding to Indian organisations and NGOs.
The JPC's approach to consulting stakeholders has drawn criticism from opposition parties, who argue that sufficient time and engagement with civil society groups and affected parties have not been provided during the committee's examination of the proposed amendments.
