BJP concocted false charges, says Congress MP Akoijam after JNU expulsion

Congress MP Bimol Akoijam has claimed his expulsion from Jawaharlal Nehru University is a political witch hunt orchestrated by the BJP. Akoijam alleged the party fabricated charges against him to target him politically.

The MP also accused JNU of violating the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) law and breaching confidentiality rules in its handling of his case. He further alleged racism played a role in the expulsion decision.

Akoijam's comments come after the university took action against him. The Congress leader has rejected the expulsion as part of a broader pattern of political persecution by the ruling dispensation.
