Congress flags delay in proroguing Parliament, links it to delimitation Bills
Congress has questioned the delay in formally proroguing Parliament's Monsoon Session, alleging the government is using the extended period to build support for Delimitation Bills. The party claims the government seeks to secure the necessary numbers to pass such legislation.
Parliament was adjourned sine die on August 13 after nineteen sittings. Over 25 days have since passed without the session being formally prorogued. Congress links this delay to an earlier setback in the Lok Sabha concerning a similar delimitation bill.
