Congress SC, ST MPs to petition President over Haldwani 'purification' row

Thirty-two Congress MPs from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities have decided to petition the President regarding the Haldwani 'purification' row, according to MP Mallu Ravi. The MPs finalised a memorandum seeking presidential intervention during a meeting.

Beyond the petition, the group also decided to constitute a parliamentary forum dedicated to addressing issues affecting SC and ST communities. The move reflects Congress's response to the controversial incident in Haldwani.
