Congress criticizes PM Modi after Xi meeting over border peace stance

The Congress party has criticised Prime Minister Modi after his recent meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The criticism came after Modi conveyed to Xi that peace and tranquillity along the India-China frontier remains an "essential" basis for the development of bilateral relations.
Congress leaders, through remarks attributed to party spokesperson Jairam Ramesh, questioned the government's approach to the border issue during the high-level diplomatic engagement.
