Old Building Wall Collapses Outside CSMT, Damages Vehicles; No Injuries

A section of an old building wall collapsed outside Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) on Tuesday evening, causing damage to a car and two motorcycles. A water bottle-laden truck tilted in the impact. No one was injured in the incident, despite the area's heavy foot and vehicle traffic.
The collapse occurred on the left side of Platform 13, near goods and supplies movement area. Workers had moved away minutes earlier to attend to an arriving Vande Bharat train, narrowly avoiding potential injuries.
According to officials, the wall was part of a demolished IRCTC base kitchen building. When one of two adjacent structures was torn down, three sides were removed while one wall remained standing. The weakened wall eventually gave way. The remaining structure, currently a storage room, is in poor condition, raising safety concerns about aging structures in this busy railway precinct.
