Deepti Sharma overtakes Thailand's Putthawong for most wickets in women's T20Is

India's Deepti Sharma has overtaken Thailand's Putthawong to hold the record for most wickets in women's T20 internationals. The Agra-based cricketer achieved this milestone during India's 94-run victory over Thailand in the Women's Asia Cup 2026 opener.

Sharma's consistent performance across T20 international matches has established her as one of the format's premier bowlers. The record underscores India's strength in women's cricket, particularly in the spin-bowling department ahead of the continental tournament.
