The Enforcement Directorate has arrested Ramgopal Agarwal, former treasurer of the Congress party's Chhattisgarh unit, in connection with an investigation into a Rs 3,000 crore liquor scam. According to allegations, cash proceeds from the scam were funneled to Agarwal during his tenure.

Following his arrest, Agarwal has been placed in ED custody for one week. The investigation concerns a network allegedly involved in managing illicit commissions and sales related to the liquor trade.
