CJP protesters seek shelter in Delhi gurdwara, don mock helmets during police standoff
Farmers protesting against the Central government's farm policies entered a gurdwara in Delhi on Tuesday to evade police detention during a demonstration. The protesters, part of the Collective Janam Party (CJP) movement, adopted unconventional tactics to express dissent.
During the standoff, some protesters wore mock cockroach-shaped helmets as a symbolic gesture of protest. The demonstration reflects ongoing tensions over agricultural policy and farmer grievances in the national capital.
Police cordoned off the area as the protest unfolded. The use of the gurdwara as a refuge highlights the escalating nature of farmer agitations and their attempts to circumvent law enforcement restrictions on public assemblies.
