Delhi High Court refuses to ban CJP's planned Tricolour march at Connaught Place

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is set to hold a 'Tricolour march' and protest demonstration at Connaught Place in Delhi today, drawing heightened political activity. The New Delhi Municipal Council has ordered closure of Central Park on October 16-17 for administrative reasons. Delhi Police have invoked Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita to maintain law and order, appealing to the public and protesters to refrain from participating and warning of legal action for violations.
The Delhi High Court refused to ban the protest after a local street vendor filed a petition citing concerns over business disruption and traffic congestion. The court noted police assurances that all necessary steps would be taken to manage and regulate the situation.
CJP founder Abhijit Dipke called for the march to protest against the arrest of party spokespersons Sourav Das and Ashutosh Ranka and against the election commission. The Aam Aadmi Party and leftist student organisations AISA and SFI are extending support, raising expectations of large turnout. CJP has called supporters to gather at Central Park from 5 PM with national flags.
