Delhi HC questions Centre over Telegram ban for NEET retest
The Delhi High Court questioned the government's decision to temporarily block Telegram ahead of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21. The court asked how the rights of millions of users could be curtailed due to concerns about misuse by a few individuals.
The government defended its action, citing Telegram's vulnerability to large-scale information dissemination. The court's intervention raised concerns about balancing national security measures with the fundamental rights of 150 million users of the platform.
