Delhi hotel chain served notice over food safety violations

India's food regulator has issued a notice to a prominent Delhi hotel operator following inspections that revealed multiple hygiene violations in food preparation areas.
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) found food handlers working without protective gloves and hairnets, wearing jewellery, and having long fingernails during inspections. The regulator also noted fungal contamination on vegetables being used in food preparation.
The violations point to lapses in adherence to basic food safety protocols at the establishment. The FSSAI notice requires the hotel chain to address these deficiencies and demonstrate compliance with food safety standards.
