Dead Rat Found in Dosa at Mumbai Restaurant; Police Case Filed

A customer at Radhakrishna Hotel in Borivali discovered a dead rat inside a Mysore masala dosa on Monday, raising serious food hygiene concerns. The customer's brother had already eaten several bites before noticing the rat. The discovery left him shaken and he subsequently vomited. A complaint was filed with Borivali Police Station following the incident.
The discovery has prompted calls for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to inspect the establishment and verify compliance with food-safety standards. The incident comes as the Maharashtra FDA, under Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, has intensified its crackdown on food establishments across Mumbai, with officials conducting surprise inspections and taking action against violators, including licence cancellations.
